Speculations about Travis and Swift dating first emerged in July 2023 when Travis was spotted attending Swift's Eras Tour at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium. Later that month, he made a bold move by creating a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it, hoping to catch Swift's attention. However, he expressed his disappointment because Swift does not engage with fans before or after her shows. According to Travis, she has to protect her voice for the extensive performances she gives, which consist of a whopping 44 songs. He jokingly admitted feeling a bit hurt that he couldn't personally hand her one of the bracelets he made for her. Travis also mentioned that Swift rarely meets anyone, if at all, which made him take it personally.
