Former NFL star Jason Kelce recently announced his retirement from the league and shared his plans to focus on his health. In a podcast episode with his brother Travis Kelce, Jason expressed his desire to shed some weight now that he's no longer playing as an offensive lineman. He mentioned aiming to reach 250 lbs, having already started working towards this goal by tracking his calorie intake using the MyFitnessPal app.
While Jason is determined to slim down, he made it clear that he won't be following extreme diets like going vegan or keto. Instead, he emphasized the importance of maintaining his protein intake to preserve muscle mass while reducing overall calories to achieve weight loss.
Despite his commitment to health, Jason humorously admitted to indulging in cake for three consecutive days, which temporarily hindered his progress. He also joked about his participation in a recent charity 5K run/walk for the Eagles Autism Foundation, where he finished the race in just over 43 minutes.
Reflecting on the event, Jason playfully acknowledged that the term 'ran' might have been too generous to describe his pace during the 5K, highlighting his down-to-earth and self-deprecating nature.
As he embarks on this new chapter post-NFL, Jason Kelce's candid approach to health and fitness serves as an inspiration to many, showcasing a balanced perspective on wellness that prioritizes sustainable habits over quick fixes.
