Jasmine Ellis Cooper and husband Silas Cooper’s marriage has been on a positive trajectory following a challenging summer on Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard season 1. The couple, who tied the knot in June 2022 after meeting on a dating app, were the only married pair featured on the Bravo show's first season, which was filmed shortly after their wedding.
Reflecting on their experience, Jasmine, 31, shared that being on the show allowed them to confront any conflicts or misunderstandings in their relationship as they couldn't hide anything from the cameras. This led them to reevaluate their bond and commit to working on their marriage, ultimately strengthening their connection.
Despite the initial struggles, Jasmine and Silas, 32, have managed to prioritize their relationship and fall in love with each other all over again. Their journey was further tested when Silas, a member of the U.S. Army, was deployed overseas, requiring them to navigate a long-distance marriage.
During Silas' deployment, Jasmine relied on frequent communication through platforms like WhatsApp and FaceTime to stay connected with her husband. The couple welcomed their first child, son Silas “Si” Geplay Cooper Jr., in February, with Silas unable to be present for the birth.
Jasmine acknowledged the challenges of Silas missing significant milestones in their son's life due to his deployment, emphasizing the difficulty of being apart during such moments. She expressed hope that Silas would be able to return home by the upcoming summer, highlighting the strain of his absence on their family.
Despite Silas being unable to participate in the filming of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard season 2, Jasmine found support and camaraderie among her friends on the show. She noted the absence of Silas was felt by the cast, but she appreciated the opportunity to strengthen her bonds with her fellow cast members.
As the new season of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard premieres on Bravo, viewers can witness Jasmine's journey as she navigates the complexities of marriage, motherhood, and long-distance relationships. The show promises to offer an intimate look into the Cooper family's experiences and challenges, showcasing the resilience and love that bind them together.
