Jarryd Hayne supporter receives $38k over spitting story

A supporter who spat towards Jarryd Hayne's rape victim will be awarded nominal defamation damages with a judge finding he engaged in "generally disgraceful behaviour" after the former NRL star was sentenced.

Mina Greiss was among a group attending Newcastle Courthouse in May 2021 when Hayne was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison after being found guilty of two charges of sexual assault without consent.
