Japan’s Kotaro Kiyooka showcased an impressive performance in the final of the men’s 65kg freestyle wrestling event, securing the gold medal on Sunday. Despite being unseeded at the start of the competition, Kiyooka emerged victorious by defeating Rahman Amouzadkhalili of Iran with a score of 10-3 in the final match.
The 23-year-old wrestler demonstrated exceptional skill and determination right from the beginning, establishing a dominant lead by scoring all 10 of his points in the first period. Amouzadkhalili struggled to match Kiyooka's pace and was unable to gain control of the bout, ultimately leading to Kiyooka's decisive victory.
Prior to the final match, Sebastian Rivera of Puerto Rico and Islam Dudaev of Albania claimed the bronze medals in the men’s 65kg freestyle wrestling event, adding to the excitement and competitive spirit of the tournament.
