Janey Godley shares retro throwback snap and fans can't get enough of her iconic 80s hairdo

Janey Godley has delighted her followers with a nostalgic throwback snap of her in her younger days in the 1980s when she was sporting the iconic hairdo of the decade.

The volume, crimps, and curls of '80s hair were a huge staple during the time period, as it has struck a chord with many of her online followers to reminisce the era.

A younger Janey was pictured alongside a baby with her bouncing and voluminous dark thick curls held back from her face in a funky yellow striped chunky hairband.

"My 80s look," the Scottish comedy star captioned the post on her Twitter page as fans rushed to the comments to share their thoughts.

It prompted a string of her 290k followers to share their own fond memories of the 80s as they shared images of themselves back in the 'good old days.'

One fan shared an image of a retro-style Phillips boombox as they asked her if she "floated about blasting" one of them too, to which the 67-year-old replied "Aye."

One fan wrote: "Cool AF as the younguns say.... loving the scarf headband. Demi-wave?"

Someone else said: "Love a good photo booth photo - and this is a great one, pure 80’s."

"I think everyone of a certain age 80’s look! Thankfully my photographic evidence is well hidden!," quipped another.

A third added: "You also looked wonderful then but now you look younger!"

Meanwhile, Janey has shared some positive news surrounding her cancer battle, updating fans that her latest scan has come back 'clear this time'.

The award-winning comedian was initially diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer in November 2021, and since has explained she will have to fight her health battle for the rest of her life.

On Monday, the 62-year-old took to Twitter to update her 289,000 followers that she was 'celebrating a good scan today'.

She wrote: "My scan came back and it’s clear this time, which is good news but bear in mind my peritoneum/ ovarian cancer is incurable, it’s treatable and I am over the moon my body is responding to the weekly chemo so far. Until the next time cancer… but not today.

"I love being positive but I have to be well aware that I will be on chemo for the rest of my life to keep it at bay until I can do longer stave it off, I am being realistic and celebrating a good scan today - f*** cancer"
