Janey Godley says it would be 'cracking' if she dropped dead on stage ahead of last ever tour

Janey Godley says she think it will be 'cracking' if she drops dead on stage.

The comedian is about to embark on a standup tour while undergoing chemotherapy to treat her ovarian cancer.

The 61-year-old says that there is a risk the treatment leads her to vomit during a performance, but she says there's also a chance she dies during her routine, which she believes is 'the way to do it'.

Talking about the upcoming 'Not Dead Yet' tour, she told the Loose Ends podcast: "I am not dead yet. I have ovarian stage 3 cancer and I'm getting some more treatment.

"So by the time the tour goes I'll have been through some more chemotherapy.

"But I'm not a woman who dies on my knees, I'll die standing on my feet. So I'm ready to go on tour and if I happen to be on stage and just peg it right there I think that'll be cracking.

"It will be great. It's the way to do it."

Godley said she would be getting treatment for her cancer between gigs.

"What (comedians) need is that extra edge," she joked. "That extra edge is (a) will I die? (b) am I going to vomit with the chemo? Who knows?"

She also invited the audience to heckle her about her illness.

"I hope I walk out and people go 'How come you're not dead yet?" she said.

Just a few days ago, Janey reflected on the year she has had by sharing an emotional snap of her husband shaving off her hair back in February.

Shortly after her diagnosis last year, the comedian decided to shave her long locks off before she lost them due to the side effects of chemotherapy. At the time, she shared the emotional black and white photograph of her husband Sean's hands on her head as he used an electric razor to shave her hair.

And as she headed into the new year, despite her cancer returning and having to undergo even more treatment, Janey reshared the snap and said it was her favourite of the year.

She wrote: "My fav photo of 2022, my husband shaving the remains of my hair through the first chemo sessions. We both cried. He was so gentle."
