Jane McDonald fought back tears over her heartbreaking family loss as she reveals she would "give anything for one more day".
The singer and TV presenter, 60, returned to screens for her latest episode of My Yorkshire on Channel 5.
She made the trip to Scarborough in the programme as she had fond memories of going there with her parents.
Jane lost her father Pete in 1993 and her mum Jean died five years ago.
The cruise ship star held back tears as she recalled what the seaside town means to her.
“Ah, happy days, I would do anything with just one more day with them," she said.
“I am taking you to Scarborough because it has great memories of being there with my parents."
She said the family would always have "cockles and prawns" from "a little stall on the front", adding: "I still love prawns to this day.”
Jane's trip down memory lane saw her remember the songs her dad used to sing while driving.
She also enjoyed her favourite rides from when she was a youngster and tucked into a classic meal of fish and chips.
Earlier this year Jane was overcome with emotion as she headed out on safari in Kenya.
Sleeping under the stars gave her a new outlook on life and she just had to share it all with the viewers.
"It has swept me away with emotion and welcomed me into a world that hasn't changed for years. It has shown me the joy in the world around me, " she said.
"I had nothing here, but I actually had everything here," Jane said while getting tearful.
"I saw a shooting star last night, so sorry, it was like a message saying don't worry, everything is going to be ok."
The TV favourite continued: "We always think that time is a threat, but it isn't, time is a gift and I think if anything, it hit home with me last night it's how insignificant we all are here and how we worry about things that really don't matter.
"When you see the universe, and the planet like it is, it all makes sense and last night for me, all made sense.
"That's how powerful it was sleeping under the stars."
It has been a challenging few years for Jane, after her partner Ed Roth died from lung cancer last April at the age of 67 after her beloved mother died in 2018.
Elsewhere on her travel series, Jane released baby turtles into the ocean.
The clip was shown as she appeared on The One Show where she said: "I'm calling one Ed and one Jean," before opening up about how she felt about the experience.
Host Ronan Keating asked Jane about the special moment, with Jane responding: "I've just recently lost my partner and my mother at the same time."
She then choked up, before apologising: "Sorry my throat went there, always does when I talk about them.
"I just thought this is new life. Go out. You've just got to think that at the end of something comes something beautiful in new life. That's what we all have to remember."
