Jamie Oliver fans were divided as the chef explained how to cook on a budget.
The popular chef returned tonight for the new season of Jamie's £1 Wonders. The Channel 4 programme sees Jamie make a variety of family dishes for under £1 per portion.
On Monday's episode, the 47-year-old showed viewers how they can make a delicious cheesy pancake stack with spinach and ham. The chef explained how the costs of ingredients were taken from an average across four of the biggest supermarkets.

He said: "What I've tried to do for you is keep the flavour up and keep the costs down. It's the principles that I think have value. A good celebration of pancakes and what you can do with them. It really is a cracker."
The only ingredients Jamie assumed people already had was salt, pepper and oil. Jamie was able to concoct the recipe for £7.76 and claimed it served up to eight people, which amounted to 97p per portion.
Viewers following the show on Twitter hailed the chef for the genius recipe.
Mrs McCahill said: "Jamie Oliver is actually a genius - we spend a large portion of our free time watching cookery programmes, but this is one of the few that has made Mr McCahill say "I reckon I could do that". Win win - save money, get my dinner made."
Ali posted: "Those pancakes are unreal!"
Alex commented: "Really fancy a cheesy pancake stack. Not gonna lie."
However, others were not so convinced by the portion sizes.
Paul tweeted: "That pancake ain’t feeding 4 people in our house let alone 8!!"
Steve added: "Yeah Jamie, under a pound a portion… if you’re a sparrow! Come On!"
Betty posted: "Serves 8!! They'd get a sniff each i can just see my son and husbands face if i gave them 1/8 of that"
