Jamie Carragher has admitted that he isn’t surprised to see Jarrod Bowen linked with Liverpool - but believes it’s always difficult for his old side to buy players in that position.
Bowen has proven to be a major hit with West Ham since joining the club from Championship side Hull City back in January 2020.
The 25-year-old has scored 12 times and registered 11 assists in 39 games in all competitions so far this season for David Moyes’ side.
Bowen has admirers at Liverpool, although that interest is yet to result in a move for the attacker.

Speaking in his Friday press conference ahead of his side's game with the Hammers on Saturday, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was full of praise of Bowen.
He said: "Jarrod Bowen, pffft, what a player...he became unbelievable.
"We saw as well at Hull and he was really good that time, but I am not sure many people expected this jump, so [he's an] unbelievable player."
But while Carragher believes Bowen is already playing like a Liverpool player, he can’t see a transfer taking place due to the West Ham star playing in the same position as Mohamed Salah.
“There’s talk of Liverpool’s interest in him [Bowen] and you can see why with the goals and assists he gets, but also the positions he takes up,” he said on Sky Sports. .
“Even that one [the position he took up before his injury], the position he gets in when Virgil van Dijk heads it back.
“He plays very narrow, as Liverpool’s wide players do.
“But I just think it’s always difficult for Liverpool to ever buy anyone in that position when you’ve got Mo Salah. Not just his quality, but he very rarely misses games."
