James Bentley's fondest childhood memories involve watching some of the greatest Leeds Rhinos sides in history - now his goal is to become a part of one himself.
Bentley has made the move from St Helens, where he won three consecutive Super League titles, to Leeds for the new Super League season, which begins for the Rhinos on Saturday against Warrington Wolves.
It represents a significant moment in the life of Bentley, who is not only from Leeds, but regularly attended games at Headingley with his family as a child before beginning his own professional career.
And he is determined to lead his hometown club into a new chapter on the field by bringing yet more success to the Rhinos.
"My main memories just revolve around watching a team that were absolutely incredible, they won all the time, and it was a joy to watch growing up," Bentley told Rugby League Live.
"I've been part of that at St Helens to an extent, winning the trophies I have done there. But to bring that success here and deliver something similar at Leeds would be the biggest dream I could imagine.
"The goal is simple: to emulate that success at this club. You play to win every week and the standards that we've set, and the standards surrounding this club, dictate that winning is the only thing that's acceptable."
Eyebrows were perhaps raised when Bentley opted to swap being part of such a dominant St Helens side in favour of a Leeds team who are aiming to build to a similar level in 2022.
Yet for the forward, it was a straightforward decision.
"I just felt that I wanted to be a bit closer to home with my family," he said.
"I've loved my time there at St Helens but the second Leeds come in for you, being from here and growing up around here, it's not too difficult to decide what you want to do next.
"I can nip home and see my mum whenever I want, and it's been very enjoyable. Hopefully, that enjoyment translates onto the field."
Bentley has already tasted what it is like to run out at Headingley in Tom Briscoe's recent testimonial match. That, however, will not compare to the cacophony of noise he will face on Saturday against Warrington.
"I grew up supporting them, I used to come down with my family and here as a spectator. To get a taste of it in pre-season has been very special but that first Super League game will be incredible.
"I had goosebumps during Tom Briscoe's testimonial.. it's unbelievable to be here. I can't wait to experience that first Super League game as a Leeds player. It will be a dream come true."
