Former pop star Jamelia has revealed her new found confidence in her forties as she praises her gorgeous feminine form for growing her with three children.
The British singer and television personality has told how she feels sexier than ever and never want to be a size 6 again.
The Birmingham-born 41-year-old told Closer magazine: “I feel sexier than ever in my forties. I feel so much more knowledgable and confident.
“I’m a size 14 and I’m so proud of all the changes my body has been through - its given me three kids and that’s amazing. I don’t want to be a size 6 again.”
Jamelia was first signed by a major record label at the tender age of 15.
Being 5ft 6 in the music industry meant she was taller and “quite a lot bigger” than her peers.
And although Jamelia was a tiny size 6, she revealed she was still pressurised by the industry to lose weight.
The former Hollyoaks actress recalled to the publication being told she had to be “sample size”.
This filled her with insecurities and made her focus her efforts on shrinking as much as possible.
Becoming “sample size” was “impossible” for the star, despite her trying, she told. She was encouraged to have a coffee or a Diet Coke by those around her as she rose to fame instead of eating food.
With age and wisdom now on her side, Jamelia is determined not to let her daughters Teja, 21, Tiani, 16 and True, four, grow up suffering under the same pressure as she did.
The former pop star said she will “never pass this message on” to her girls.
The trio each have different body types and their loving mum wants to teach them to love themselves and feel confident in their shape, she explained.
“You don’t have to look a specific way - which is what I was told growing up.”
