Jalen Ramsey Says There’s No Chance He’ll Be Cut by Rams

As the Rams recover from a disappointing 5–12 season, rumors have swirled that they might release cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Los Angeles could save over $20 million if they decide to move on from the veteran defender.

Ramsey has two years left on his five-year, $100 million contract, making an average of $15 million over the next two seasons. In 2023, Ramsey will have a $26 million cap hit, but Ramsey would count for just $11 million against the cap if the Rams release him.

However, while the media discusses which teams could be a fit for Ramsey, the cornerback is adamant that he isn’t going anywhere. Ramsey posted on social media a confident statement that he will remain in Los Angeles.

“100% chance I WON’T get cut,” he said. “God bless tho.”

The Rams enter the offseason around $15 million over the cap and need to find a way to get under in order to improve the team.

After back to back first-team All-Pro seasons, Ramsey played in 17 games for the Rams and totaled 88 tackles with four interceptions and two sacks. He did make his sixth straight Pro Bowl this year and is still one of the premier names at cornerback in the league.
