The undeniable bond between Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown was again on full display during Week 8 as the Eagles stars stole another show on a historic day for the wide receiver.
An eight-catch, 130-yard, two-touchdown day by Brown in a narrow 38–31 road win over the Commanders made the veteran receiver the first in NFL history to log 125-plus yards in six consecutive games, passing a mark previously held by Lions legend Calvin Johnson (5).
When asked post-game about Brown’s big afternoon, Hurts, who recorded 319 passing yards and four TDs in the win, took a moment to salute his teammate and close friend for etching his name in the record books.
“I’m proud of him as a friend and a quarterback,” Hurts told reporters, per John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

The pair’s red-hot outing at FedEx Field extended what’s been a scorching statistical tear for Brown in recent weeks. Coincidentally, his streak began in Week 3 on the heels of Hurts and Brown’s relationship facing scrutiny after their animated sideline exchange during a win over the Vikings.
Based on the last few weeks and Hurts’s post-game remark, however, the QB and wideout’s chemistry seems to be as strong as ever. After finishing with 29 yards versus Minnesota, Brown has since compiled 831 of his 939 yards and all five of his TDs on the year during his run, and will look to add more when the Eagles (7–1) take on the Cowboys (5–2) in Week 9.
