Jake Paul believes a boxing clash with Conor McGregor would be much tougher than facing Nate Diaz.
Paul is making waves in the sport and has won his first five fights as a professional defeating former UFC stars Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. The YouTube star has issued public challenges to both Diaz and McGregor in the boxing ring despite the pair both remaining contracted to the promotion.
The 25-year-old would ideally like to face Diaz upon the expiration of his deal before challenging McGregor. "I think Conor is the tougher fight because of his experience in the ring with Floyd Mayweather," Paul told Morning Kombat when asked which fight would be tougher between McGregor and Diaz. "He is definitely a better striker and Nate gets hit a lot more.
"I think a fight with Conor is very possible. He is just inactive, I am the one that is still fighting, I am the one that is going uphill while his entire career is going downhill. If and when the stars align we can make that happen 100 per cent. Nate just knows I am the money fight a lot of these UFC guys know that, so they want to be let out of their contracts to earn the payday."
A fight with Diaz initially looks the more likely possibility with the American having just one fight left on his current deal. Paul recently made an offer to step in the octagon to face Diaz but a meeting in the boxing ring looks much more likely. Diaz has unveiled his plans to face Paul and recently hinted at a showdown during a social media demand to be released.
Meanwhile McGregor has been a long-term target for Paul's trash-talking for several months but is focused on making a return to the UFC. The Irishman has previously stepped into the boxing ring losing to Mayweather back in 2017 and is keen on making another appearance in the sport.

Previously McGregor refused to entertain any verbal barbs with Paul, but recently hit out at Paul on social media: "You’ve [had] two fights and done 70k buys. You are a flop, kid. A nobody." A fight between McGregor and Paul could represent a huge pay-per-view with the Irishman considered one of the biggest draw's in combat sports.
McGregor hit out at Paul after the YouTube star called for the pair to settle their differences in a fight that he claimed could be worth around $200 million. "I think for me fighting a couple more times, continuing to knock some people out," Paul said on The MMA Hour.
"Those things need to happen again, so I think those two things need to happen then at some point it's got to happen, why not. He's a businessman, I'm a businessman. That's $75 to $100million for both of us."
