Jaipur: Three rob Rs 5 lakh from trader in Jawahar Nagar

JAIPUR: Three unidentified men robbed a bag containing Rs 5 lakh from a man on a scooter in Jawahar Nagar on Friday. An FIR in the case was registered on Saturday at the Jawahar Nagar police station. The complainant alleged that three men on a bike first waylaid him and asked him to remove his helmet while he was returning to his home from his shop on Friday evening.

The complainant claimed that the accused fled away with his bag containing Rs 5 lakh and some documents. Police said that the accused had covered their faces with masks and clothes.

“The complainant said the accused sped away on their bike with his bag. We are scanning CCTVs of the area to track down the bike’s number plate,” said a police officer. Police suspect that accused had conducted a thorough recce of the shopkeeper’s movements before they robbed him.

“Prima facie probe indicates that the accused may have been following the shopkeeper for the past several days before they struck. Probe is underway to track them down,” he said.
