Jaipur: Nine-year-old boy hospitalised after being attacked by dogs

JAIPUR: A nine-year-old boy, Daksh Mishra, was attacked by street dogs at Radha Nikhunj Colony near Patrakar Colony in Mansarovar police station. The injured boy is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The matter came to light when the CCTV footage of the incident went viral on Friday. It was found that the incident had taken place on May 19.

At least six dogs suddenly attacked the boy when he was playing outside his home. In the video, it is seen that boy attempted to save himself by running away from dogs but he was attacked and bitten by the dogs. Locals alleged that they had intimated the authorities of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation, but till date nobody has responded or visited the locality. When the boy was screaming some women passing through the area intervened and took the boy away from the grip of the dogs. "Some people came and rescued my child. He is better now. I will urge the authorities to take action against street dogs," said Jitendra Mishra, father of the boy.

Mishra added that the boy has sustained at least 40 bite marks on his body and has got some stitches too. "He is better now. I am thankful to the women who intervened on time and saved the life of my son," he said.

However, no complaint is given by the family in this regard at the Mansarovar police station and they said action should be taken by the JMC authorities. tnn
