JAIPUR: The directorate of local bodies (DLB) has issued notices to all the district collectors not to hire contractual workers in urban areas under the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme till next order.
For better implementation of the scheme, an exercise was started by the state government to appoint employees on contractual posts in municipalities, municipal councils, and municipal corporations. However, the scheme has been put on hold.
