Jaguars’ TE Evan Engram won’t be available in Week 18 vs Colts

The Indianapolis Colts’ final regular season game in a few weeks will be played at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who will be without tight end Evan Engram.

Jaguars’ head coach Doug Pederson announced on Friday prior to Week 15 that Engram will be out for the rest of the season with a torn labrum.

Engram missed the Week 5 matchup between these two teams earlier in the season–a matchup that Jacksonville won–due to a hamstring injury.

He is a big part of the Jaguars’ passing game, catching 47 passes in only nine games this season for 365 yards with a touchdown. Over Engram’s previous two seasons (2022-2023) with the Jaguars, he caught a combined 199 passes and totaled over 1,800 receiving yards with nine touchdowns.

In five career games versus the Colts specifically, Engram has been extremely efficient, catching 30-of-32 passes for 263 yards.

Depending on how the next few weeks for the Colts, especially in this week’s game against Denver, which is a playoff-like matchup for them, their Week 18 game with the Jaguars could be quite meaningful and come with a playoff spot on the line.

Along with Engram not being available in this game, neither will quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who is on injured reserve.
