Jaguars Star Facing Suspension for Violating PED Policy, per Source

Jaguars left tackle Cam Robinson is facing a multiple-game suspension next season for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, according to Sports Illustrated Fan Nation reporter John Shipley.

An ESPN report added that the NFL is waiting on the results of Robinson’s “B” sample before determining the length of a suspension. This is Robinson’s first offense, and he could be suspended for two, six or eight games depending on the substance that triggered the positive test.

Robinson signed a three-year, $52.75 million extension last spring and will lose $888,888 for each game he misses as part of the suspension.

Robinson has been the anchor to the left side of Jacksonville’s offensive line, serving as the blindside protector for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He’s been an integral part of the offense and his absence will be a serious issue that the Jaguars will have to navigate at the start of next season.

Robinson suffered a knee injury in December against the Cowboys and missed the stretch run of the regular season and the playoffs, but general manager Trent Baalke told reporters last week that Robinson will be good to go in camp “from a health standpoint.”
