Jack White lines up Bangkok show

Detroit rocker Jack White is finally performing in Thailand.

UPDATE: The concert venue has changed from CentralWorld to Muangthai Rachadalai Theatre.

White fronted garage-rock duo The White Stripes, bringing amped-up Delta blues into the 21st century and scoring a global hit with ‘Seven Nation Army’. The band used a limited palette - mostly just guitar and drums - but were nevertheless a thrilling live act throughout their six-album early aughts reign.

Always restless and productive, White formed both The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather to showcase his songwriting chops outside the self-imposed restrictions of his first band.

White remains a champion of old school sounds and aesthetics, from the songs he mined for the White Stripes to his label Third Man Records, a Nashville-based mostly analogue concern that hawks vinyl and merch with a retro vibe. Jack White shows are renowned for his policy of banning mobile phones in a bid for fans to be in the moment, rather than trying to capture IG moments.

White’s recent focus has been his solo work, and he released two albums this year - the riff-heavy Fear of the Dawn and the mellower Entering Heaven Alive

His latest Supply Chain Issues tour, which stops off in Bangkok at Muangthai Rachadalai Theatre on Saturday November 12, has seen him perform around 20 songs per show, with half the set given to his solo work while the rest sees him plundering the White Stripes/Raconteurs/Dead Weather catalogue.

Expect to be dazzled by both his trademark ferocious guitar shredding and his new bright blue hair.

Tickets start from 1,400 baht and are available here.
