Jack Quaid, known for his role in the popular series 'The Boys', recently disclosed that he auditioned for the iconic role of Superman in the upcoming live-action reboot but unfortunately did not progress far in the casting process. Despite his impressive acting credits in projects like 'Oppenheimer', 'Scream', and 'Star Trek: Lower Decks', Quaid's audition for Superman did not lead to a role in the film.
Quaid, who has previously voiced Superman in Adult Swim's 'My Adventures With Superman', received praise for his portrayal of the character in the animated series. However, he acknowledged that he may not have fit the physical requirements for the live-action role, which ultimately went to David Corenswet.
In an interview, Quaid expressed his admiration for Corenswet, describing him as a perfect fit for the role of Superman. Despite not landing the role himself, Quaid took the outcome in stride, stating, 'I put myself on tape, and it went nowhere, and that's fine.'
Reflecting on his career and the opportunities he has had, Quaid emphasized the element of luck in the industry. He acknowledged the competitive nature of auditions and casting decisions, noting that sometimes certain actors simply fit the bill better for specific roles.
While Quaid may not have secured the role of Superman in the live-action reboot, he continues to be recognized for his work in 'The Boys' and other projects. The fourth season of 'The Boys' recently concluded on Prime Video, further solidifying Quaid's presence in the entertainment industry.
Despite the disappointment of not landing the Superman role, Quaid remains grateful for the opportunities he has had in his career. His versatility as an actor has allowed him to explore a range of roles across different genres, showcasing his talent and dedication to his craft.
