Jack Grealish's reaction after discovering Man City's possession stats vs Arsenal

Manchester City winger Jack Grealish appeared to be shocked after discovering that the Blues had a mere 36 per cent possession during the victory over Arsenal.

The game was initially cagey at the Emirates Stadium but sprung into life in the 24th minute when Kevin De Bruyne pounced on a defensive mistake to lob Aaron Ramsdale for the opener. Arsenal were level just before the break as Bukayo Saka converted a penalty won by Eddie Nketiah.

Grealish restored the Blues' lead on the 72nd minute coolly slotting home past Ramsdale with the aid of a deflection. The game was effectively over ten minutes later when Erling Haaland converted a De Bruyne cross to send City back to the top of the Premier League.

Post-match, Grealish was being interviewed by Amazon Prime's Simon Thomas who informed him that the Blues had such a low possession statistics. After initially questioning if that was right and being told that was the lowest under Pep Guardiola, the 27-year-old said: "God knows then, I don’t want to say much about that.

"I thought they were the better team, I don’t know what you guys think. I thought they had a few chances, I don’t know if it was a penalty I’ve not really seen it back yet, but listen, to win titles you’ve got come to grounds like this, even when you’re not at your best, and win games."

Commenting on City's performance in general, Grealish added: "You know you get them games where you just speak amongst yourselves, everyone seemed so concentrated on the game, and even myself all day, I wasn’t nervous, I was just in the mood and staying off my phone, and I thought yeah we have to win today really, that’s what I was thinking. Luckily we did, if I’m being honest I don’t think we actually played that well, I thought Arsenal played a lot better than us, I thought they were the better team."
