Jack Grealish 'offered' Manchester City exit route by Champions League rival plus other transfer rumours

It seems unlikely that Jack Grealish will leave Manchester City any time soon, but that doesn't mean there isn't a list of teams that will try to prize him away from the Etihad Stadium.

City signed Grealish for a British transfer record £100m in the summer of 2021, but since then the England attacker hasn't consistently produced the performance levels he did at Aston Villa. That has sparked plenty of reports that City could be open to a sale, and the latest team linked with the 27-year-old is AC Milan.

According to Calciomercato, Italian giants are monitoring Grealish's situation and would consider making a move if City decided to cash-in. AC Milan are fairly well stocked in the attacking department, although star attacker Rafael Leao will be out of contract in 2024.

City are one of the sides that has been linked with the Portuguese attacker, so it's not inconceivable that the two players could swap places.

Meanwhile, City could become involved in a striker transfer domino effect without actually buying or selling anyone.

That's because according to AS, Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Turkish striker Enes Unal - formerly of City - from fellow La Liga side Getafe.

Unal was on City's books between 2015 and 2017 after City signed him from Turkish side Bursaspor for around £2m. However, he never made a senior appearance for the club, instead embarking on three separate loan spells in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The striker then spent three unproductive years split between Villarreal, Levante and Real Valladolid, before moving to Getafe where he has scored 26 goals in 81 appearances. The move will come about should Atletico Madrid offload out-of-favour Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha, with Wolverhampton Wanderers the front-runners in the race to secure a deal.

Unal is not an academy graduate of City, but he is further evidence of how City can influence top-level European football through excellent recruitment.
