Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase says he will play in the season finale against the Cleveland Browns.
Chase has been dealing with a shoulder injury that he played through last week during the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
But Thursday, Chase said he’ll suit up regardless of what the injury report says, with ESPN’s Ben Baby providing the star wideout’s explanation: “It’s been a hard season. Just wanna show the guys that I’ll put my body on the line for those guys.”
It certainly falls in line with the theme Bengals head coach Zac Taylor set earlier in the week when he said the team is trying to win by any means despite a lack of actual implications for either team with Cincinnati eliminated and Cleveland locked into a playoff seed.
Beyond helping his guys avoid an 0-6 mark in the AFC North, Chase has 1,197 yards and seven touchdowns on the season, so he’d probably like to bump those numbers a bit after his third straight Pro Bowl nod, too.
