During a Premier League match between Chelsea and Brighton, social media users started spreading rumours that 20-year-old Ivorian footballer Malick Yalcouyé is older than he claims to be. The rumours gained such proportion that the youth club where he trained decided to post photos of Yalcouyé throughout the years. Recently, similar accusations were made against the new Real Madrid striker Yan Diomandé.
Malick Yalcouyé scored his first goal for Brighton on August 30, one of the first games that the 20-year-old Ivorian footballer has played for the team. Shortly thereafter, he became the target of baseless rumours that he is lying about his age.
