ITV Vera role for Hollyoaks villain Rhiannon Clements as cast 'shaken up' for new series

Having not long been one of Hollyoaks' most evil villains, actress Rhiannon Clements has now been landed a role in the new series of Vera, joining the drama as an 'ambitious' new recruit.,

Rhiannon will be instantly recognisable to Hollyoaks fans for her sinister star turn as Summer Ranger, the mysterious new arrival to Chester with a serious axe to grind and making life hell for Sienna Blake and Brody Hudson, eventually ending up behind bars for trying to kill Sienna.

Rhiannon has also appeared on TV in the likes of Ridley, Death on the Nile and Doctor Who and will be seen on screen next year in Vera series 13, having joined the cast of the long running ITV show to film in Northumberland.

ITV bosses have revealed that Rhiannon will play DC Steph Duncan, an ambitious new addition to DCI Stanhope's team, as the no nonsense sleuth tries to get to the bottom of more murder mysteries, with Joe Ashworth making a shock return to the fold.
