ITV This Morning viewers stunned as BBC Call the Midwife star Helen George looks 'so different'

This Morning viewers were rushing to social media after seeing Helen George appear on the show. Fans best know the actress for playing Trixie Franklin in Call the Midwife. The popular BBC One series is currently a staple to viewers' Sunday evenings as it airs its 12th season before the gripping Happy Valley.

And while she's always quizzed about her nurse alter-ego, Helen was actually on the ITV daytime show to chat to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary about starring in the UK tour of The King And I.

She will play the role of Anna Leonowens in the classic musical, fresh from runs in Broadway and the West End, next month. But when asked about stepping into a theatre role after 11 years on Call The Midwife, Helen admitted that it's "utterly terrifying".

"Obviously, we know you so well from Call The Midwife," Dermot said. "And that's something you don't take for granted, but you're in the swing of it, you properly know the character. When you go back into theatre, as an actor, how scary is it?" Helen replied: "Utterly terrifying! It is, it is - but we film for six months a year.

"And apart from during Covid, I've always tried to do some sort of theatre in between. Because it really sort of gets you back and reignites you and I think it sharpens you."

She continued: "I think it sharpens your brain [and] your learning capacity. Because for TV we have short scenes and you learn and you throw away. Whereas for theatre, you have to learn a lot so it's a different muscle."

But as Helen chatted on the show, This Morning viewers were distracted as she looked worlds away from Trixie, who has vibrant blonde locks, as the 38-year-old TV and theatre star was sporting a fresh brunette do.

@LordSnodgrass tweeted: "Helen George looks so different with brown hair.#ThisMorning." @SJMinogue said: "Wow - @helen_george is such a beauty! Loving the dark hair #ThisMorning." @mentalmidget20 added: "Helen George is just gorgeous. #thismorning."

She then had another change as she transformed into her King and I character and performed a redntion of Getting to Know You from the musical. In response, @TraylorHolmes said: "Helen George has got a great voice #ThisMorning." @collins80105291 echoed: "What a beautiful voice #HelenGeorge #ThisMorning."
