ITV This Morning viewers squirm as Alison Hammond forced to apologise after Dermot O'Leary's remark

This Morning presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary have been at the centre of rumours of an apparent feud between them for quite some time. And whilst hosting the ITV show on Monday morning, things got slightly heated as Dermot called his co-star a 'b***h'.

Alison and Dermot have presented the daytime show together every Friday since January 2021, but are currently stepping in throughout the week whilst Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield take their annual summer break.

However, sources have previously claimed that the pair have clashed, bickered and struggled to ‘hit it off’ behind the scenes, with fellow presenter Josie Gibson recently defending them, telling OK! : "Those two are like brother and sister'".

During Monday morning's show, Alison was forced to apologise to viewers after Dermot O'Leary broke the rules and swore live on air. As former Big Brother contestant Kate Lawler presented the show's competition segment, Alison had a 'Big Brother' reunion with her as she was on the reality show herself back in 2002.

Dermot, 49, then surprised Alison with a throwback as he said: "Let's have a quick look at you and Kate in this iconic moment in the Big Brother house."

Footage then showed Dermot presenting the spin-off show Big Brother's Little Brother, which he hosted from 2001 until 2008.

Alison, 47, then poked fun at her co-star, saying; "Look at you with a bald head, you should so go back to that bald head. Why don't you shave your head? Look how fit you look."

The pair continued to joke with one another as Alison said: "You were so good on that show," and Dermot replied: "Just at that show?" to which Alison responded, "Yeah."

Laughing, Dermot then raised his glass of water and said "such a b***h," whilst seemingly forgetting he was on daytime TV. Seconds later Alison, who looked rather shocked, then responded "oops" as she quickly ushered "apologies for that."

However Dermot seemed unbothered and added: "Oh sorry," before reading the link for the next segment, with Alison trying to hide her laughter. Viewers squirmed at the awkward encounter as they took to Twitter after the exchange aired.

@HannahLSherry wrote: "Dermot saying “such a b***h” and Alison trying to not laugh is getting me through the heatwave."

@shuvinogrigio said: "Omg did Demot just call Alison a b***h on #ThisMorning."

@LiamLambrini tweeted: "I’m screaming at Alison trying to keep a straight face after Dermot called her a b***h live on air."

@KpdwKirsty added: "Howlingggg...as if Dermot just called Alison a b***h on live tv. I'm starting to believe they genuinely don't get on!"
