Some This Morning viewers didn't appear too impressed as Alison Hammond excitedly revealed that she actually featured in the first installment of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix docuseries.
The first three episodes of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's series with the streaming giant dropped last Thursday (December 8) with the next three, and last, episodes due to be released on the platform on Thursday (December 15).
The release of 'Volume 1' saw those tuning in discover more about how Harry and Meghan, who married in 2017, actually met, before getting into their experience with the press with Harry making a rare reference to his late mother, Princess Diana's, Panorama interview.
But following the release of a new trailer on Monday (December 12), it appears that 'Volume 2' will be more explosive than the first. "I wonder what would’ve happened to us had we not got out when we did," Prince Harry is heard saying, with the next three, hour-long episodes expected to be about the couple's decision to step back from being senior royals in 2020.
In another clip, which does not explain to whom it refers, the duke says: "They were happy to lie to protect my brother. They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us." The trailer, which also features photographs and video footage of the couple at home in California and with their children, ends with Harry saying: "I’ve always felt as though this was a fight worth fighting for."
On Tuesday, Alison was back at the helm of This Morning alongside Dermot O'Leary and as ever they kicked off the show by discussing the latest news headlines in 'This Morning's View'. As the hosting duo and their guests moved on to talk about the upcoming episodes of the couple's series, Alison admitted she was desperately waiting to see it, saying she was ‘obsessed’ with the programme.
"I've watched all three episodes, and I don’t know if you know, but in the third episode, you do actually hear my voice,’ the TV star, 47, then revealed. "You hear me in Nottingham going, 'Meghan! We love you!' Really, really loud."
She went on: "It was actually in the documentary – so I was watching the documentary, and I was like, 'That’s my voice!' I was like, this is so good! I’m all over this documentary." A the end of the discussion, Alison declared: "I’m watching the next episode."
But This Morning viewers felt differently about how excited Alison was over her cameo. @aaronleemitchel tweeted: "It’s not good Alison it’s boring. Stop embarrassing yourself. #ThisMorning." @diltondiltond1 complained: "Alison reaction after seeing the Harry and Meghan were totally inappropriate! Sadly there is a rift between 2 brothers and Alison react like that!! Wow! #thismorning."
@karlfun88 laughed: "Is Alison watching a different Harry and Meghan show?? She’s talking like it’s a new episode of Friends #ThisMorning." But @ttforextrader commented: "Your the best, especially the support with Megan and Harry." Others, however, were annoyed by the conversation in general. @MartGray tweeted: "@thismorning More Harry and Meghan? Switched over #thismorning." @UKTVForever said: "#ThisMorning FFS Just Stop obsessing over Harry & Meghan again."
@kellymcc5 fumed: "Sorry but 3 young boys died falling into an icy lake and this lot are talking about the endless soap opera that is Harry and Meghan #thismorning." @SenorApple2014 echoed: "For f**k's sake, Harry & Meghan again?! What about the families of the 3 boys who died falling into an icy lake?! Do you think they give a s**t about what the Royals are up to now?! #ThisMorning."
