This Morning viewers ended up making the same quip after they were left stunned by Sir Bob Geldof's appearance on the show. The singer-songwriter and political activist joined hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the ITV daytime show on Wednesday (February 22) as he made a rare trip to the studio.
Sir Bob was on the show to remember his late the Boomtown Rats bandmate and childhood friend Garry Roberts who died in November, aged 72. The Irish rock group announced the news in a statement at the time which described Gary, a founding member of the iconic band, which formed in Dublin in 1975 with Sir Bob as frontman, as "the guy who summed up the sense of who The Rats are".
Appearing on This Morning, to take about how the band are paying tribute to him with their remastered single, No Tomorrow Like Today, Sir Bob reflected on Roberts’ loss, paying tribute to his incredible guitar skills and ‘fundamental’ status within the band. "He was a difficult man," he admitted.

"He was filled with rage, but we all were. It was 1976, it was punk, it was perfect for us." Sir Bob later said: "He’s a mate, a colleague, but not someone you’d ring up and ask for a pint... How do you replace this very annoying person who had been glowering over your shoulder? I turn around and it won’t be Gaz anymore."
He also joked that, "like most guitar players" he was "a general pain in the a**e" for the singer, as he would constantly turn up the sound on his guitar during live shows. "He had to stare at my skinny a**e for 40 years – it wasn’t a good relationship," before Sir Bob finished by saying he was a "great guitar player."
But viewers saw the funny side of his 'swearing' slip-up which caused Holly and Phillip to giggle. @mrscarter22 tweeted: "@thismorning Sir Bob said ar*e twice! #ThisMorning," alongside a string of crying laughing emojis.
@JessiTRex wrote: "Naughty Bob saying a*se twice! #ThisMorning." But as @TraylorHolmes commented: "I can’t believe Bob Geldof didn’t swear! #ThisMorning," @R3TRO8OY replied: "He said A*se twice, I expected more tbh."
But This Morning viewers also giggled as they spotted Sir Bob quickly getting up off the sofa to shake Holly and Phil's hand as they went to an ad break. @lcyHlcCuP tweeted: "Couldn't wait to get away could he #ThisMorning." @HEGATTY68 said: "He couldn’t wait to leave #ThisMorning.2 @Itt39354118 echoed: "And he can't wait to get away#thismorning." @LiamThommo87 added: "Bob wasn’t hanging about was he #thismorning."
