ITV This Morning viewers 'in stitches' over shortage of garden gnomes in the UK

This Morning viewers were left baffled by a segment on the ITV show on Thursday morning, as guest Paul Howan confessed his love for garden gnomes - as they are on the decline.

Host Josie Gibson hit out with the facts that over 50 per cent of over 65's believe garden gnomes don't have the allure they once did in a garden.

However, guest Paul showed off his wonderful collection and stated that: "They've been around for a long, long time, and as to the non-popularity that people seem to think gnomes have, I think they're just getting more and more popular!"

Another said: "All he needs is the gnome outfit and this chap would look like one too. #ThisMorning"

A fourth said: "Oh gnome indeed - this is gonna be another s*** show. #ThisMorning"

Further comments read: "They really have scrapped the barrel this week for content #ThisMorning", and "Another dose of serious journalism #ThisMorning"

One viewer even thought they had spotted something rather rude about one of the gnomes, stating: "Is that a giant t******* floating on the pond #ThisMorning"

This Morning resumes on Friday, April 15, on ITV from 10am onwards.
