ITV This Morning: Twitter divided as Phil 'cheats' to ensure caller wins £3000 prize

A caller on This Morning has scooped the £3,000 cash prize on its daily game show Spin to Win. Every day on the show, one lucky caller who answers the phone gets to play the game in which presenter Phillip Schofield spins the wheel and wherever the pointer lands indicated the amount the caller has won.

However, caller Patrick, who said he was on his way to work today for the NHS, appeared to win the seasoned TV presenter over so much in the short chat they had before the wheel was spun that Phil appears to have sneakily stopped the spinning right on the £3,000 mark - the highest possible prize.

Although the camera wasn't on Phil in the act, the cheeky smile he gave to Holly afterwards appeared to suggest that more than just luck was involved in Patrick's good fortune. @Dophinium said: "Cheating the spin to win for all not just the ones @Schofe deems worthy". @Sarah8917x said: "If you work for the NHS your (sic) bound to win 3000."

@Lofty2467 added: "This Spin the Wheel was not fair. Here’s a tip for anyone in future, just say you work for the NHS, and you’ll instantly win £3,000!" But many on Twitter were delighted for Patrick, who also suggested This Morning feature more men's fashion segments, and seemingly bagged himself a spot on an upcoming show.

Presenter Holly Willoughby said as she wrapped up the call: "Would like to come on and be a model on that show?" to which Patrick replied enthusiastically, "Yes!". @Ange5982 said: "I am series linking EVERY episode of @thismorning now until Patrick has been on. What a sweetheart and he has a valid point. Great idea Patrick." And @Carolma 81959293 added: "Awww lovely Patrick. He deserved to win the £3,000. Brought a happy tear to my eye. Phil and Holly".
