ITV This Morning's Vernon Kay slated by viewers for 'stating the obvious' on migraines

This Morning presenter Vernon Kay was the butt of ITV viewers' jokes on Wednesday morning, as he 'stated the obvious' about headaches during a health segment on the show.

Dr Nighat was on the show on Wednesday to discuss the causes behind headaches, and how to treat various types of pains - including cluster headaches, migraines and even sinus pains.

During the segment, Vernon said: "It is true that a headache is just an ache, in the head", which went down a treat with viewers - for all the wrong reasons.

Viewers flocked to social media to laugh at Vernon's painfully obvious statement, as one Twitter user said: "A headache is a pain that’s in the head no way #thismorning"

Another said: "A headache is a pain in the head , cheers dr , didnt know that #thismorning"

And a third wrote: "What is a headache? Is it when your head aches I'm guessing #ThisMorning"

A fourth commented: "Haha vernon taking the p*** #thismorning"

People also noted that fellow host Josie Gibson asked a question relating to her own health, meaning she 'avoided' having to try book a doctors appointment, as one Twitter user joked: "Josie has managed to get a Doctors appointment... #ThisMorning"

Another wrote: "Thats saved Josie trying to see a GP, just have a consultation with the studio GP...Ta daa! #thismorning"

More comments praised the pair for their presenting, as one comment read: "#ThisMorning Josie and Vernon are my much preferred presenters. Josie looks amazing today."

This Morning resumes with Josie and Vernon on Thursday, April 14, on ITV from 10am onwards.
