ITV This Morning fans issues plea as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield return - and Lee Mack causes chaos

It's been a couple of weeks since they were last on-air together but Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield made their This Morning return on Tuesday (April 19).

The hosting duo opened the latest edition of the ITV daytime programme as usual by welcoming viewers to the show before turning to welcome each other back to the helm, with Holly adding that it was 'nice' to see Phillip and those watching at home. The pair were replaced on the show by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary and Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay during their time off.

Phillip, who turned 60 the day after finishing up This Morning for Easter on April 1, also shared a selfie during the ad break of him and his co-host and friend beaming on the famous sofa telling his millions of followers: "Back with my bestie."

The show was once again jam-packed with interviews, cooking, fashion, and more leaving no time for either Holly or Phil to go into what they got up to during their time off but what we do know is that Schofe hit the slopes with some unlikely holiday companions.

But not everyone was thrilled to have the pair back and were quickly making a plea to This Morning bosses.

@Miss_Vix88 tweeted: "Bring back Vernon & Josie and even Alison & Dermot at least it’s a laugh when they’re on #ThisMorning."

"Can we have a mix of Josie, Alison, Vernon & Dermot presenting please @thismorning #ThisMorning," @IckieBickie asked.

@JayHBaker94 shared alongside a GIF of Monster's Inc character Boo bursting into tears: "Me realising Philip and Holly are back... Wish it was Vernon and Josie (Like the majority of Twitterers) #ThisMorning."

"Can we have Josie, Vernon and Alison back please??? @thismorning #ThisMorning," @allen_rob pleaded.

Later in the show, Holly was reunited with her new co-host Lee Mack. The presenter and comedian are currently appearing together on BBC One's Freeze the Fear with Wim Hoff. But he decided to join her on her day job to chat about their show, which airs its second episode tonight, as well as his Saturday night quiz show, The 1% Club.

However, Lee couldn't help but get involved with more of the show, showing up during the fashion segment on the catwalk before finally sitting down on the sofa to chat to Holly and Phil. During the interview, Lee joked: "It feels like me and you have had an affair and now you're back with your real husband."

The comic also revealed that it's the first time he'd ever wore glasses on television and that he's waiting to undergo laser eye surgery, which requires him not to wear contact lenses for the time being. He added that it was actually Phillip who had recommended laser surgery to him off-screen.

He cheekily told Philli "see you in court" if anything happened to him during the operation to which Phillip replied: "You won't find me," before moving swiftly on.

Despite the interview soon coming to an end, Lee returned as Holly and Phil hosted the latest Spin to Win feature. After delivering Holly her balls, he was then invited to spin the wheel for the lucky caller who gave the right pass phrase when rung by the show. He also read Holly's lines from the autocue as he remained sandwiched between the pair 'like a spare part'.

But This Morning fans were loving his involvement in the show.

@Chell_lawman tweeted: "@thismorning Lee Mack thank you so much for cheering me up today! You need to be a permanent fixture #ThisMorning #leemack."

"Lee Mack to be guest presenter #ThisMorning," @Miss_Vix88 echoed.

@hollywillslove shared: "Anyone who can make Holly laugh is fine by me. That was such a funny interview with Lee Mack. #ThisMorning."

"#ThisMorning @thismorning @LeeMack Love the 1%club. And Lee Mark is a great host. Why doesn't he present more shows instead of the same old boring faces," @suzysasha commented.
