ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh gobsmacked as Paul Sinha unveils past with quizzer

The Chase's Bradley Walsh was gobsmacked as Paul Sinha recognised a quizzer on today's show.

The 62-year-old presenter welcomed four new players on Wednesday's edition of the popular ITV game show. Deb, Martin, Sam and Cath were taking on The Sinnerman in a bid to win a cash prize.

Deb in seat one put in a superb performance to build up £5,000 in her cashbuilder. However, she opted to take the higher offer and was swiftly eliminated in the head-to-head.

Martin was up next and the 39-year-old put in an impressive showing as he accumulated £6,000 before he navigated his way past The Chaser. Sam was in seat three and Bradley was surprised when Paul revealed it wasn't the first time he had met the quizzer.

He said: "Hello again, Sam. You used to hang around the peripheries of the quiz league in London. In the two years since you have disappeared, you have got very good at quizzing."

Bradley was taken aback as Sam revealed he had played against The Sinnerman in a pub quiz. The quizzer added: "I kept it as a surprise. I didn't expect to see him.

"I didn't want to see him, he's too good." The 23-year-old said he had been comfortably defeated the last time they faced off as Bradley suggested he was "out for revenge".

Sam proceeded to avoid The Chaser in the head-to-head as he booked his place in the last round. Cath also progressed to the Final Chase and the team were competing for £19,000.

The Sinnerman gave the team a standing ovation and claimed they deserved to win after they built up 19 steps. Paul could only build up 14 steps and the team left with the cash prize.
