ITV's Lorraine Kelly threatens 'legal action' against false weight loss claims

Lorraine Kelly has threatened to take legal action against a company who have publicised false information about her recent weight loss.

Last year, it was reported that the ITV broadcasting legend had shed 1.5 stone and dropped two dress sizes after, like many Brits, gaining weight over lockdown. Sharing how she did it, in an interview with the Daily Express, the breakfast TV star said: "It isn't a stupid, silly diet because diets don’t work, as we know. It's just about making little changes. We all know what is good for us, we all know what we are supposed to eat, so it is about getting that balance right.

Lorraine added: "I'm not bored or miserable and thinking about food all the time, just eating well. The thing I do actually, well Steve does because he is a much better cook, he makes a massive bowl of really spicy vegetable soup on a Sunday and I have that for my lunch Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and then he makes another one."

Lorraine told fans that it was "all about the balance," as many praised her for her dedication to the cause. And now the presenter has publicly hit out at claims purported by online company Gettravl that she'd lost her 1.5 stone do to a new diet and then when you click on the link they shared on Twitter it links to a story claiming she was ready to walk away from ITV and pursue ventures with her own brand of weight loss pills, which don't actually exist and never have.

Sharing the link on her own Twitter timeline and slamming the claims, Lorraine wrote: "This is utter c**p and I have reported - please do not believe this utter utter boll***. I’m furious and will be taking legal advice."

Backing her, a fan replied: "Anyone who listens and watches you knows it’s healthy eating and exercise, especially dancing that keeps you trim and looking good," with another responding: "Go get them Lorraine, you are an amazing human being, a beautiful soul."
