Fans rushed to respond after Lorraine Kelly outed a 'rude' troll who took to social media to mock her appearance. The TV presenter took the insult like water off a duck's back as she publicly responded to the message.
It appears Lorraine had been fronting her self-titled ITV show on Wednesday when a viewer decided to get in touch and suggested the host 'needs a makeover'.
"I really think Lorraine needs a makeover hair is awful I’m surprised no one has mentioned this time for a short cut Lorraine," they wrote on Twitter with the post clearly catching Lorraine's attention.
Lorraine quote tweeted the post and replied: "Well good morning Cathy - only problem - when I have short hair I look like Wilson from 'Castaway' (if you know you know)." The 63-year-old was referring to the iconic ball with a red face-like shape printed on it from the 2000 American survival drama film which also appeared to sport a stick-up hairstyle.
But fans were quick to respond and show their support to Lorraine.@CarpetNurse tweeted: "Lorraine, you are beautiful the way you are." @chezmc commented: "How rude are some people! Lorraine, I think you look beautiful just the way you are." @deb25426 replied: "Wow.. how rude. Your hair looks lovely."
@ALIROB17 posted: "Why are some people so rude and judgemental what does anyone get out of making nasty, hurtful remarks, I just don’t get it! You look fabulous Lorraine." @Lels1960 typed: "Goodness me, Lorraine. You always look fabulous to me. Why do some people think that they can say such rude, personal things? You go gal!" @veryace added: "Omg some people!! You look wonderful take zero notice."
Lorraine made her return to TV screens on Monday (February 27) after a few unexpected days of absence. Last week, the Scottish TV star suddenly went missing from her ITV show and was replaced by Ranvir Singh. She shared how she had headed into the stuido last Wednesday to get ready for her show but was sent home sick.
Taking to Twitter, Lorraine confirmed she was unwell with a "hideous" bug and was gutted to miss her planned interview with Queen star Adam Lambert.
"When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT!" the 63-year-old typed on social media. She then added: "Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!" before the well wishes came flooding in from her famous pals and caring followers.
After a few days off, Lorraine returned to her show on Monday and was joined by Dr Hilary Jones. "Are you feeling better?" Dr Hilary asked as Lorraine brightly replied: "I'm fine. It wasso weird last week because I came in and I was sent home." Dr Hilary then joked: "And the doctor was away on holiday."
Lorraine then went on: "It was just a bug. Usually, I can bat them away but this time it just... It was a cracker! It just got me but I'm all good," before pressing on with her show as normal.
