An ITV News presenter was left red-faced after mistakenly announcing the Pope had died on Christmas Day.
The early morning ITV bulletin was being chaired by Kylie Pentelow - when she was telling viewers about his annual festive address.
Kylie then spoke about the head of the Catholic Church's message about the coronavirus pandemic when she said: "He said that vaccines should be made available to those most in need.
"His death was announced....ah.... excuse me."
The anchor looked rather baffled about what she had just said, but carried on to the next story, writes Daily Star.
The gaffe was immediately picked up by Twitter, as TV critic and broadcaster Scott Bryan - who is famous for tweeting out hilarious television moments throughout the year - tweeted: "ITV just killed off The Pope by accident.
"Someone get this newsreader a drink STAT. We all make mistakes.
"Just to confirm, The Pope is not dead."
And @AyoCarl wrote: "The news reporter on ITV News announced the death of The Pope by accident, then swiftly moved on before she finished the announcement.
"Straight faced and all."
And @Clarkey9 added: "If the pope dies in the next six hours, the police will be knocking on ITV News' door..."
Daily Record's sister title, The Daily star approached ITV for a comment, but didn't respond.
