ITV Love Island: Ruchee Gurung first to exit villa as she is booted out by fellow islanders

Love Island continued on Wednesday night, as the tension was rising in the Mallorca villa as the first islander was getting prepared to get the boot. It was the boys choice to pick, but the new bombshells arrival put a spanner in the works.

Both Leah and Charlotte got to pick which boy they wanted to couple up with first, as Leah chose to controversially partner up with Tyrique despite him and Glasgow model Ella having formed a connection and Charlotte took Zach, which left Ruchee also single.

It made for some interesting new pairings, as original couple Molly and Mitchel ended up back together despite Molly admitting she wanted to "explore her options" with Zach. Likewise, day one couple Catherine and Andre also ended up together.

Viewers were told it would be in the hands of the other contestants on which girl would be the first packing and saying goodbye to the Mallorca villa, as on tonight's show Ruchee and Ella head to the sundeck, as their fellow Islanders deliberate.

“This is very difficult, it’s obviously not nice seeing two of your friends standing up there," says Catherine.

Mitchel adds: "I get on with both of them, they’re both my mates and I adore Ruchee, she’s just had a bit of bad luck…"

Jess says: "They both have amazing personalities and it’s just unfortunate that it’s come to this."

"It has been a very hard decision for us to make you need to know every single person here loves you and wants the best for you," Mehdi said as he stood to reveal the group's decision.

"Ella we think you have potential since day one with Tyrique and it was nice to see it blossom. Ruchee we have been on a similar journey and we want you to find the right person.... but we have to make a decision and we based it on potential."

It was who was Ruchee who was sent packing as the islanders decided to save Ella.

Meanwhile, immediately after it was announced Mitchel turned to Zach and said "you're welcome, it could have been her" referencing saving Molly who was in the bottom three.

"I did that for my boy Zach, I didn’t do that for anyone else but Zach," Mitchel added.

Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX each weeknight at 9pm.
