ITV Loose Women Coleen Nolan's son sparks outrage as he's baffled by Queen's coverage

Shane Nolan has sparked fury with his comments on Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

The 33-year-old is Shane Richie's and Coleen Nolan's eldest son. The nation has been in mourning since Her Majesty died aged 96 on September 8.

The BBC has amended its typical schedule as special programming has been broadcast in tribute to Elizabeth II. The former monarch's funeral will take place on Monday and the BBC has confirmed an amended schedule is in place until September 23.

The Lying-in-State procession was televised yesterday as thousands lined the streets to observe the Queen's coffin get transported from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall. However, Shane has taken to Twitter and said he is confused why there is constant news coverage on many channels.

He said: "I did love the queen, what a woman. I just don’t understand following the coffin around with cameras everywhere and all over TV all day. Now I know I know some people will be well into it and that’s fine but can anyone tell me what time @bbceastenders is on tonight. #alfiesback."

Shane's followers were outraged by the tweet. Victoria said: "Absolutely disrespectful after all the Queen did over the years for the country I’d rather watch her safe arrival on her final journeys rather than EastEnders."

Another commented: "EastEnders on every week our wonderful queen needs the respect she deserves so I’m all for following what’s happening it’s history. Catch up was invented for occasions like this."

Shane Ritchie's return as Alfie Moon aired on Tuesday at 9pm. Shane Nolan has since taken to Twitter confused at why his tweet prompted such a reaction.

He said: "Can’t believe a tweet of mine has been taken so deeply by people"
