ITV I'm A Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec clap back at viewer after saying crew 'hate them' over swipe

Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly clap back at a viewer who accused them of a 'spoiler' seconds into the latest I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. The Geordie duo were back at the helm of the ITV reality show was they brought fans the most up-to-date action from the Australian jungle.

The episode was another busy one, with a triple-header Bushtucker trial, and Kev's Deals on Wheels challenges that ended in almost tears and the fourth exit of the 2022 series. There was also plenty of joy at the Jungle Arms returned for the first time in three years after the show was kept away from the jungle.

The campmates mused over whether Matt Hancock was "trying to tell us something" during a karaoke session in the make-shift boozer as the former health secretary gave a rendition of the Queen hit I Want To Break Free. Despite stumbling a couple of times with missed cues, Matt was praised for "going for it" during his performance.

The campmates were served alcoholic drinks as well as pizza, chips and Twiglets and other musical performances came from Lioness star Jill Scott who gave a rendition of Black Eyed Peas 2003 hit Where Is The Love?.

But earlier in the programme, Ant and Dec couldn't help but take a swipe at their Australian crew. The hosting pair appeared to cause havoc on the set as they made a football dig amid the continuing Fifa World Cup in Qatar. After Ant and Dec welcomed fans back to another night in the jungle, Dec couldn't wait to reference Australia's first result of the tournament with the national team being beaten 4-1 by France on Tuesday.

"Welcome back to I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here live from Australia 1, France 4. Sorry," he quipped before asking: "Was that too soon?" The I'm A Celeb crew yelled in the background as Ant commented: " They hate us now," before getting booed by the team behind the camera.

But it appears Ant and Dec annoyed viewers with the dig. One viewer tweeted: "Trust @antanddec to needlessly reveal the football scores just before the highlights come on. I'm not sure what they find funny."

And Ant and Dec wasted no time in responding as they clapped back: "We were taking the mick out of our Aussie crew after a loss in the WC. I don’t understand what you don’t understand!? Maybe stop watching live tv and stay off Twitter if u want to control what you do and don’t hear."

Fans also appeared to agree with the presenters and praised their 'savage' response. @_kayleighox tweeted: "That told him." @dantrueman_ said: "Haven't seen this much sass from Ant and Dec since Wonky Donkey on SMTV." @natasiamidders simply replied: "Savage."

@nathanswfc04_2 asked: "How can you complain about a football score being revealed." @tj87music posted: "You wanted to avoid the Australia score so you chose to watch a show by 2 huge football fans IN AUSTRALIA???? huh…." @Shellycarden1 added: "For a moment there I thought it was the end of the world. Course they were gonna mention it, it’s ant & dec after all."
