ITV Good Morning Britain viewers question change as Susanna Reid's replacement Ranvir Singh under fire for Sam Smith gaffe

Good Morning Britain viewers have questioned the changes to the show's hosting line-up as Susanna Reid was replaced by Ranvir Singh. Viewers of the ITV news programme are used to seeing Susanna at the helm of the show at the start of the week alongside the likes of Richard Madeley and Ed Balls.

But it was all change on Monday (February 13) as Ranvir Singh stepped into the main hosting role alongside Robert Rinder who has been a hit on the programme during his appearances in the main presenting seat.

It comes as many of ITV's flagship daytime shows will undergo changes this week due to the half-term break. For example, Christine Blakeley has stepped in for Lorraine Kelly on her self-titled ITV show while Josie Gibson and Dermot O'Leary are taking over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning.

However, GMB viewers had questions. @anniebev6 asked: "Is this the half term staff #gmb." @MCRvibez quipped: "Susanna Reid gets more days off than school teachers! @GMB." @LushShirley60 added: #GMB #how come #Susanna still has half terms off."

Meanwhile, Ranvir momentarily came under fire when she made a gaffe while talking about Sam Smith. The singer had all eyes on them as they headed to the Brits on Saturday night. The singer stunned those tuning into the ceremony by donning an eye-catching black latex outfit before taking to the stage with Kim Petras for a performance of their hit track, Unholy.

As Robert and Ranvir discussed the daring fashion ensemble, the latter made a slip-up and referred to the gender-neutral singer as "he". However, after realising the error, the broadcaster was quick to correct herself and while introducing the outfit's designer Hari Krishnan to the show, Ranvir then referred to Sam as "they" and branded the outfit "pure art".

Viewers picked up on the mistake, with one person tweeting: "@GMB probably should brief Ranvir that @samsmith identifies as they/them?" As another asked: "@gmb didnt you brief correctly about pronouns to be used with Sam Smith?"
