Good Morning Britain viewers were left asking for 'silence please' as Martin Lewis was left struggling to speak during his latest appearance on the show. The Money Saving Expert founder returned to the ITV news programme on Thursday (March 16) following the Chancellor's Spring Budget announcement on Wednesday.
He was on hand to try and explain some of the announcements made by Jeremy Hunt and also celebrated the success of his Energy Price Guarantee campaign. The government has headed advice from Martin and his team of experts and postponed a planned 20 per cent rise on the EPG.
This means that it will now remain at £2,500 a year for a typical household for at least three months from April 1 when It had been due to rise to £3,000 a year.
However, GMB viewers were unimpressed as they accused host Kate Garraway of "interrupting" Martin during his appearance on the show. This included one moment where Martin began to explain the fiscal drag, which would result in people having to pay more tax if tax thresholds aren't increased.
"Going onto your question…" Martin then said as Kate replied: “I mean that’s part of my question really, what’s left to do?” But Martin tried to speak as well via video link from home, creating an awkward moment of the pair talking over each other before Kate said: "Carry on – go for it, Martin!"
But in the meantime, those tuning into the show were flocking to social media to comment. @MaureenboysNana tweeted: "I wished Kate would not keep interupting What Martin is trying to explain silence please. Thank you." @yorkiejay asked: "Why the heck does Kate garraway insist and constantly have to talk over people?"
@Patrick17339227 fumed: "Could Kate shut up and let THE EXPERT SPEAK he knows what we need to hear." @Grandma11598151 echoed: "SHUT UP KATE… long winded unnecessary questions.. just let Martin Lewis speak." @suzielawsonx added: "Can you please tell Kate Garoway to shut up when the guest were talking she kept interrupting Martin lewis then done the same with Simon gregson when they were telling us something interesting she cut in and l missed what they were saying doing my head in!!"
