Susanna Reid appeared a little taken aback when she was called 'slow' by co-host Ed Balls after she failed to save him when he suffered a mind blank live on Good Morning Britain. The presenter and former Labour MP were back at the helm of the ITV news programme as they kicked off a new week on Monday (March 20).
As they were joined as usual by entertainment editor Richard Arnold for all the latest celebrity news and gossip, Ed started reminiscing about his time on Celebrity Bake Off. They were discussing the showbiz spin-off of the Channel 4 favourite as it returned to screens on Sunday night (March 19) with Friends icon David Schwimmer impressing inside the famous tent.
But as he was recalling a story from fellow baker Kimberley Walsh, he couldn't remember her Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl's name. He was sharing how the singer contracted malaria after climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds to fight the disease.

Ed explained that Kimberley won the competition after recounting Cheryl's story but struggled to remember the Fight For This Love singer's name and looked to Susanna for help. But there was quite an awkward pause before she came to his rescue while live on air.
"Unfortunately, I was up against Kimberley Walsh, and she had been up Kilimanjaro ten years before where her companion caught malaria, whose name was..." Ed said. Susanna eventually replied: "Cheryl?" to which her co-host replied: "Yes right, sorry I was just trying to think there.
"I was waiting for you to fill in the gap there," he added before remarking: "You were a bit slow," prompting Susanna to respond: "Blimey!" She then went on to say: "Right ok, well I'm sorry about that," prompting laughter from both Ed and Richard. But the latter was clearly feeling a bit awkard as he joked he was "hoping for an emergency alarm" to get away from the situation, referring to the news story from earlier in which the government are set to send an alert to the phones of people in the UK.
