Good Morning Britain was thrown into chaos on Friday morning after a guest swore live on air during a heated debate, forcing presenter Ben Shepard to apologies for the foul language. It happened as the panel discussed the scrapping of Batgirl and whether the film would have been better received if the lead actor was a man.
It was confirmed this week that the film, which was shot in Glasgow and cost £82 million, would not see the light of day after poor tests screenings. Broadcaster Dominique Samuels and Film and TV Critic Hannah Flint discussed whether female heroes were maybe not that super.
The topic lead them on to other movies, with Flint hitting back at Dominique who claimed Miss Marvel is to be axed. She responded: "It got 98%, it's the highest rated Marvell series. It's been celebrated. I don't know if that's been confirmed that it's been cancelled?"
She added: "Well Miss Marvell is an example of showing representation in a Pakistani/American community, talking about Muslim representation. Dominique asked: "Do you actually need that in a film. All people are doing is trying to watch a film?"
Hitting back Hannah replied: "If you want a monolithic view of what female superheroes are - you want them to be hypersexual, you know get their t**s out, wear spandex, that's fine."
Moments later, presenter Ben Sheppard said: "Apologies, Hannah used some quite offensive language to describe some of the outfits of female superheroes. If you are offended by that, we are sorry, we can't use words like that at this time of the morning."
Fans of the show were quick to react on social media, with one person saying: "Thanks Hannah, now my 4 years is asking what t**s are. #GMB"
Another wrote: "Wow did she actually just say what I think she said? #gmb"
While a third said: "Took their time to apologies there. #GMB"
