Emmerdale fans have spoken out after they saw Leyla Cavanagh plant her lips on Jai Sharma following his support after her split from her husband Liam. The wedding planner, played by Roxy Shahidi, mistook Jai's kindness after she received her decree nisi, ending her marriage to the local doctor.
Jai, portrayed by Chris Bisson in the ITV soap, has been looking out for Leyla after she nearly relapsed following her stint in rehab for her drug addiction. Leyla was pushed out by her family after her son, Jacob, discovered she had been buying drugs and, after locking her in her room, met with her drug dealer which ended up in him being stabbed.
The university student was close to losing his life after he took the knife out to threaten Leyla's drug dealer and after his near-death experience, Jacob told his mum he didn't want anything to do with her. But last week, after some words from Jai about how his support will help keep Leyla clean, Jacob started to rebuild his relationship with his mum.

Jai then gave a warning to her colleague, Suzy Merton, who knew about Leyla's drug use way before arriving in the village as they used to take them at parties and on nights out. He told her that she needed to steer clear of Leyla, despite Suzy insisting that she wanted what was best for her as well as Jai.
During Monday night's trip to the Dales (February 27), Leyla told Jai as he paid her a visit after learning of the decree nisi coming through: "I knew it was coming but I didn’t expect it to hurt this much." She later confessed: "It is not just my life that I destroyed. It was Liam’s."
But as he left and they said goodbye at the door, Leyla lunged at Jai and the pair shared a kiss, which was spotted by his girlfriend Laurel Thomas. Horrified, she hurried off and the episode ended with an angry Jai telling Leyla: "What was that for? That’s not what me and you are about. It is Laurel I love."
And Emmerdale fans were quick to complain and make an observation about Leyla. @granmarie_jones1954 said: "No need for it." @jasmin4u2021 wrote: "Leyla is PERFECT at breaking up relationships and marriages. It’s not the first time." Mervat El Nahas wrote on Facebook: "Honestly. Who does that ?????" Alison Orton added: "Oh dear. That's the second time Leyla has split them up!"
But some would rather see them as a couple. @PeaksLfc tweeted: "I prefer jai and Leyla #emmerdale." @tamlianod25 echoed: "I prefer Leyla with Jai." @Jamie27A_ posted: "Jai and Leyla’s relationship starts NOW! #emmerdale." @deedurkin33 added: "Jai and Laurel have zero chemistry.. I think him and Leyla should get back together.."
