Emmerdale fans have been left questioning the whereabouts of one character as he seems to have gone 'missing' from the village. During Wednesday night's trip to the Dales, viewers saw Dawn Fletcher facing the difficult moment when she had to explain to Lucas and Clemmie that she used to be a prostitute.
Fans of the ITV soap were left furious with Gabby Thomas when she made some cutting remarks to Dawn, which ended up being overheard by the two youngsters. Gabby felt like Dawn was accusing her of being a bad mother after asking her if she could give her son Thomas his dinner if she was already doing the same for Lucas and Clemmie.
Dawn tried to point out that she was just as busy as Gabby, who bagged a job with Kim, as she is training to be a veterinary nurse alongside her job as a receptionist for Rhona Goskirk's veterinary practice. Dawn told Gabby that she wasn't her lackey and that if she was struggling with her job, she shouldn't have gotten drunk with nanny Nicky the night before.

But Gabby fired back: "You are only sore because I got the job and you didn't. All this gaffe about spending time with kids but you won't even help with Thomas." But Dawn only riled Gabby further when she suggested she was prioritising her career over motherhood.
Brining up Dawn's past, Gabby ended up shouting: "Lucas was in foster care for god's sake, who fed him while you were busy shooting up drugs and working as a prostitute?" However, Gabby did not realise Dawn's kids were standing right behind her and overheard what she had said.
Dawn was devastated while her dad, Will, gave Gabby a stern word. Later, Dawn sat the children down and delicately explained that she had to go out with men for money when she was very poor. She made clear that they should only get close to someone who cares about them and told them that she learnt a lot from her mistakes.
She then finished her explanation by telling them how much they mean to her and that she wants to be a mum they can be proud of. And in a heart-melting moment, both Clemmie and Lucas told Dawn they were proud of her before giving her a hug. And fans were flocking to social media to praise Dawn actress Olivia Bromley for the delivery of the scenes.
Joyce Barlow wrote on Facebook: "The star of tonight’s episode is Dawn bless her." Laura Graham commented: "Poor Dawn she's made mistakes but did well for herself she handled situation well, Gabby was out of order was nasty of her but really like Dawn, she's one of my favourites great actress." Mary Cummins shared: "Dawn's character has really grown she's a great actor." @RyanTheSoapking tweeted: "That Dawn Lucas and Clemmie scene was beautiful #Emmerdale."
But it did spark questions as to where her husband, Billy is. @ToddGM246 asked: "Where is Billy? #Emmerdale." @chinnyroberts echoed: "Where it Billy?" However, @Dan240993 shared: "Did I just hear that Billy is with Ellis in London. #Emmerdale."
