Ranj was not hurt during the crime, which took place after he attended the Brit Awards on Tuesday, February, 8, however, his watch was stolen and he has been left a "little shaken" after the event.

The watch was made by Welsh jewellery brand Clogau and Ranj attended the Brit Awards through their invitation.

He Tweeted: "I had the BEST night last night. Sadly, on my way home from Soho when I was walking to get a taxi, I was approached by a man who robbed me.

"I foolishly chased after him, but he got away. I now know that's not a good idea as sometimes these people will lead you into a trap.

"I wasn't going to say anything because I felt stupid and a bit embarrassed, but after speaking to some friends I thought it might just serve as a reminder: please be careful when coming home at night-even in spaces you think are safe."

Ranj also added that he felt like he had been taken advantage of as the man approached him as if he needed help. He said: "I feel like I got taken advantage of because I thought he was genuine. Another life lesson learned" followed by a sad face emoji.

The Tweet was flooded with over 360 replies as his fans and followers sent him their best wishes and just hours before he had posted photos of his watch to Instagram saying how excited he was to be going to the Brit Awards for the first time.
