EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer has been confirmed as the first contestant on the latest series of Dancing on Ice.
Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will welcome a whole host of new celebrity faces to the show as they swap their normal professions for ice skates. Each will be paired with a professional ice skater as they strut their stuff to music to try and wow judges Oti Mabuse, dancer Ashley Banjo and skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
Patsy was revealed to be first up in the line up today while appearing on ITV's This Morning. Appearing on video link, live from Los Angeles, the soap star said: "I just can't believe I'm the first one." Holly joked: "I know, no backing out now. We've revealed you."

When asked why she wanted to take part in the show Patsy said: "I wanted to challenge myself, get back to work and get out of my comfort zone."
Phil said: "You've turned this down before, we've asked you before." Patsy replied: "Yes, I know, because I've been absolutely terrified before. But I feel like my pact that I made with myself was to do things to challenge myself for the next couple of years."
She added: "This is for all of the 50 year old's out there who feel like they can't challenge themselves. Feel free to watch me do whatever I need to do. I'm actually quite scared now!"
Phil revealed that the show will air around January as Holly said: "So that's number one. More to come."
